About this book
Momo ja Taro is a picture book inspired by two young gulls that appeared outside my window after I moved to Finland.
At first there were two. One day, only one remained.
Rather than telling a story about loss, the book follows the quieter work of growing up. Momo watches the lives around him and slowly learns how to read the world: when to hide from rain, when to search for food, when to fly, and when to begin again.
The story is written for young children, while offering another layer for adults who have ever found themselves learning to begin again on their own.
